~ Juxtaposition of Seasons ~
Arise my friends from your sleep…
As the coldness darkly creeps…
Though winter peeked in…
At the early dawn…
It skittishly departed…
Like a freshly born fawn…
~
Arise and see the gentle cries of spring…
The entire world has yet to bring!
~
For glassy ice melts…
And warm rain drops fall…
Those brown clumped masses…
Now grow vibrant and tall.
~
The murky skies…
Once overcast and forlorn…
Have bowed away graciously…
To spring’s sweet horn.
~
My friends and I…
Were once swaddled in furs…
Surrender our garb…
Not that the sun has stirred.
~
This juxtaposition of seasons…
Will soon fade with time…
And alas will be mere memories…
Recalled only in gentle rhymes
